Ten years ago the most terrible act of terror in the human history was committed. Three digits – 9/11 – are familiar to any man on a planet today. The wealthiest, mightiest and most invulnerable country was attacked by a bunch of lunatics, whom no one treated seriously before. On the 9th of September, 2911 the world changed beyond recognition. The last ten years have passed under the sign of this event that changed the global geopolitical configuration and caused two wars. Little-known terrorist organization declared a war civilized world, having launched the processes that are under way even today. Still, no one has managed to guess all the consequences of these events.

Revolution of Sphinxes. Part I
Egyptian uprising became the No 1 topic of the world media. After the Jasmine revolution in Tunis, leading newspapers have been exercising their wit, trying to invent a name for the Egyptian one that didn’t happen yet. By now, “date revolution” is leading in that contest, but in fact Egyptian events are much deeper and more mysterious than this plain and nutritious fruit, that Prophet Mohammed himself enjoyed so much.

Eight years that changed America. Part I
Exactly two years ago, on the 20th of January, 2009 the first black American President moved into the White House. Since then everyone’s tenderness with the color of Barack Obama’s skin was replaced with disappointment in the hopes and expectations that he failed to live up to. Then there were apprehends regarding the abrupt drop of his popularity. It was getting worse and worse as it went. Democrats lost the midterm elections and, as a consequence, have lost the House majority. Emergence of a new political power (the Tea Party), deep economic crisis, weakening of American foreign policy positions in the world in general and particularly in Europe — all of that changed America, its public image in the world and it gives us a good reason to think about what’s happened.
